Evelyn Offscreen was an interactive story created collaboratively between actors and participants. In each live scene, some characters were portrayed by actors while other characters were portrayed by players who signed up via the ning website. although we had a basic story arc, players were free to do whatever they wanted to do and act however they chose to act. all dialogue was improvised. Ultimately, several participants at the finale chose to write a completely unique ending to the story that we never anticipated or planned for.
Each of our live scenes were filmed using hidden cameras in order to better preserve the reality of the experience for our players. Since we did not know exactly what they would do or say, our camera operation was also improvised.
This project was produced with the support of an all-volunteer crew and cast, who generously donated their evenings and weekends to make this story happen. The majority of our props and equipment were borrowed, and locations were loaned to us through the support of our local community.
